I made a timeline. It’s called A Brief History of Lani & Music πŸ˜€

I’ve been participating in WP’s Discover Prompts for April and they’ve allowed me to dig in and get creative. Even though I’ve already shared music with PAIRS on Day 9, I knew I wanted to try to create a timeline, a twist on the theme of my relationship with music. Hope you enjoyed! It’s not too late to join.

  1. I LOVE this timeline! I also stopped playing piano, after 12 years of it! But recently started picking it back up again, so there’s hope for you yet – especially while we can’t go anywhere! Have you found any good pick-me-up songs for this strange time?

  2. I love your timeline; infographics are so cool. I keep looking at the guitar in the corner and thinking I should start learning again, but there are always so many other things to spend time on.

    1. Thanks, Su. Sorry I missed your comment. I’ve been having problems with mine not showing up in my notifications lately.

A guitar! Yes, why not? πŸ˜‰

      1. Variety is definitely the best with music. I know when I shuffle my songs I’m often surprised at the diverse genres and artists that appear 😊

  3. Great graphic and post idea Lani. Purple rain was about my first purchase on tape- must have been around 11. Think it came out in 86 didn’t it…I’d like to make something similar but it might take some time

    1. You should! I had to exclude some things for the sake of brevity. I’d imagine for a musician like you that might be hard to do.

Now I’m thinking there could be all sorts of timelines to do!

      1. Would you recommend it? I like making quick graphics like the cool timeline you uploaded, and even bought Affinity designer for the ipad but it’s massively deep software that I haven’t really tried to grapple with. Templates suit me just fine.

      2. I use their free stuff, but I find it easy to use. One of these days, I should pay because they really have so much to offer and I use them a lot.

  4. Such a cool timeline, Lani! I really hope you’ll pick up the piano again, I did so last year after 10 years of abstinence. Admittedly I play a bit less now then a couple of months ago but it’s there and I now know that getting back is easy. Muscle memory is awesome!! πŸ˜€ Ugh – I had a boyfriend once with awful music taste which is maybe even worth than no interest in music at all? Anyhow, I call them my lost years…πŸ˜‰
