Weekend Getaway to Phayao

About a 2-1/2 hr bus ride from Chiang Mai, is the little known town of Phayao. During my 2 day stay, I saw some travelling Thais, and even fewer farangs pass through this lake side city. And it’s a shame because Phayao is quite possibly the most well-planned and happy town I have seen here.

I was impressed by the tree lined streets, evenly paved SIDEWALKS, spacious parks, decorative signs, variety of food and overall laid back feel.

If you are interested in heading out there. Check out the Green Bus schedule that “Capt Bob” thoughtfully uploaded here. Safe travels.

Beautiful snaps, but I just gotta know… what are you looking at off frame in the photo with your moth agape? What peril was approaching the boat?

That was my first thought, but I didn’t wanna be rude and say it outright (see? I have manners, not very good ones, but manners nonetheless)
